17 Delicious Vegan Smoothie Recipes

Posted on Nov 20, 2017 by in Vegan Lifestyle | 0 comments

Since investing in the best blender ever, I have come up with so many smoothie recipes that I’ve shared with friends and family over the years. I enjoy creating new combinations and blending up whatever is in season or whatever we have on hand. If I’m short on time or feeling less daring, I enjoy returning to these recipes because I know that I already like the outcome!

Our Vitamix Blender was one of our best investments that we ever made! My husband and I bought it at a time when we were both looking to get healthier but didn’t know how to do it successfully. We weren’t yet vegan and we just knew that we needed to get more fresh fruits and veggies into our diet. I can almost blame the Vitamix for our eventual vegan conversion because it opened up our whole world to healthier eating by making it so easy and so accessible! We keep the blender out on our counter top at all times because we are constantly using it. Usually we make smoothies in the morning but sometimes we’ll even use ours to create soups or wet chop ingredients for meals among other uses we’ve found for it. I’ve even made a vegan pumpkin pie and vegan cookies in our blender! Needless to say, I’m in love with it and I am so glad we decided to spend the money on this magnificent piece of machinery several years ago! The company no longer makes the version that we bought in 2012, but the newest and most comparable model is this one. The reason I like this one is because it comes with settings for frozen foods, smoothies and soups. Having these settings makes it fool proof when you aren’t sure how long or how fast to blend specific types of foods. We have had excellent customer service experiences and have been pleased with the longevity of our blender since it is one of the most frequently used appliances in our home!

Smoothies are such a great way to get lots of fruits and veggies into your diet! You can easily disguise the taste of spinach or kale in a sweet fruit smoothie and fool even the pickiest of eaters; kids and husbands alike. 😉

Something to keep in mind with these recipes is that I’m freezing fresh whole spinach or kale leaves so when a recipe calls for several cups, the amount of greens is going to shrink by a lot when blended.

Also most of these recipes are formulated to be meals. They are going to fill a large smoothie jar, so if you want to have a smaller amount go ahead and make half the recipe!
